An exhibition of this scale is made possible thanks to the generous loan of 14 paintings by a private Collector, who is consistently building a collection of works by Barbara Puto.
About the exhibition
"Woman with Curls"
The exhibition presents the painting cycle "Woman in Curls" by Barbara Puto – a series of paintings dedicated to everyday situations, relationships, and the feminine presence in the world. The figure of the woman in curls reappears in various situations, becoming a carrier of observation rather than a psychological portrait. The absence of speech bubbles, texts, or literal messages means that the meaning of the image is created in relation to the viewer.
The painting in the "Woman in Curls" cycle is based on scenes and situations rather than a linear narrative. Each painting functions as a standalone episode, yet together they form a coherent whole based on rhythm, repetition, and difference.
Humor here is discreet, situational, and devoid of commentary — it leaves space for personal interpretation.
Technique and form
The works included in the cycle were created using a painting technique characteristic of Barbara Puto's artistry. The artist employs simplification of form and clear composition, focusing attention on the relationship between figures and the significance of gesture and spatial arrangement.
All works were painted on high-quality watercolor paper - using watercolor and ink. The sizes of the works range from A4 to 50x70 cm.

Exhibition "Woman in Curls"is taking place simultaneously in two locations:
📍 in Czechowice Park, and
📍 in the Kolorowa Cultural Center - ARSUS Culture Center.
It is a story about women - about strength, tenderness, distance, and the joy of everyday life. About how we can swim in cold water, cook, laugh, and follow our own path. Not just on special occasions.

The event of the vernissage - The watercolor that initiated the painting cycle "Woman in Curls" - "Red Impression" (2025), which I joyfully presented to Mayor Aneta Wachnicka in gratitude for supporting culture and the Arsus Cultural Center in Ursus.
The display boards are impressive. They are resistant to frost, rain, and snow.
